Participate in the Pork Ambassador Program
Choosing a career path isn’t easy. With so many options, having real-world experience and industry connections can make all the difference. That’s why the Nebraska Pork Producers Association (NPPA) invites college-age students to apply for the Pork Ambassador Program.
The Pork Ambassador Program is a career development experience designed to help students build leadership, communication, and professional skills through hands-on involvement in Nebraska’s pork and agriculture industries. This program goes beyond the classroom by connecting students with industry professionals, meaningful experiences, and opportunities that help shape future career goals.
The NPPA Pork Ambassador Program is more than a scholarship. It’s an opportunity to grow as a leader, develop your professional identity, and become a confident advocate for agriculture and the pork industry in Nebraska. Participants gain exposure to career pathways, strengthen their resumes, and build skills that carry into any profession.
NPPA encourages college-age students who are interested in agriculture and believe in the future of the pork industry to apply.
What Will I Do?
Pork Ambassadors participate in a variety of engaging experiences, including:

Job shadow pork industry professionals

Promote agriculture and the pork industry

Develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills

Attend World Pork Expo, industry tours, and group events

Gain hands-on experience that supports your career goals
Who Should Apply?

College-age students (men and women)

Students with an interest in agriculture or the pork industry

No farm or pork production background required
If you’re curious about agriculture, passionate about food production, or interested in building a career connected to the pork industry, this program is for you.
Scholarships Available
Selected Pork Ambassadors are eligible to receive $1,000 scholarships.
The program is designed to support students financially while providing valuable career development opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at a fully accredited college, university, or technical college in an agriculture-related degree program in Nebraska
- Must have at least one full year of study remaining toward degree
- Must have plans to work in the agriculture industry upon graduation
